About ME
I practice independently, providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples. Work is tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and vulnerabilities. I am a highly collaborative person and will work closely with other providers involved in your care to ensure that services are streamlined and coordinated.
Prior to starting a private practice, I was the psychotherapist on the Traumatic Brain Injury service at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. As a clinician in the Military Healthcare System for almost fourteen years, I worked with active duty and retired military personnel and their families specializing in trauma and combat-related injuries. Specialty areas of clinical interest include post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, post-deployment adjustment, rehabilitation, and sexual health and intimacy.
I have graduate degrees in Social Work and Psychology and completed postgraduate training in International Trauma Studies. I am a Clinical Instructor on the faculty of the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Currently I am completing AASECT certification to be a Certified Sex Therapist.
I have also written several book chapters, professional journal articles, and contributed to an online video series. For a sampling of these resources, click HERE.
