Fees / PRIVACY

As a clinical social worker, my services are covered by most insurance companies as an out-of-network provider. Payment is expected at the time of service and is made directly to me. If you choose to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement I will provide you with an itemized bill, often called a superbill, at the end of each month.

Some people prefer to cover the cost of treatment without filing as a means of protecting their privacy. This also safeguards treatment autonomy, allowing you to decide on the focus and length of your therapy independent of your insurance company's policies. In other words we can focus on what you want to for as long as we deem appropriate without reference to anyone else.

Privacy is an area that many people, especially those with a security clearance, have concerns about. The American Psychological Association does a nice job of explaining the parameters of confidentiality in psychotherapy; find it HERE.  Please contact me to discuss any questions about fees or privacy.
